We Need Your Photos!!

Start digging through those shoeboxes everyone!!  We are looking for photos  for the reunion.  If you have pictures taken during our senior year of ANY type of event, photos from our graduation, or would like to have a family photo included, we would love to hear from you!

Shirley Horn is producing a Walk Down Memory Lane video that will be showing at the reunion.  If you have photos you would like to share, please email them to Shirley at hornjacky@tds.net.  If you prefer to mail them (they are NOT returnable), her mailing address is 5015 Playbird Road, Sheboygan WI 53083.

Do you remember any good songs – something that made you laugh or cry?  If you’ve got the title of a “old” favorite, Shirley would like that as well. Please send her a note with any titles that come to mind.

What We’re Up To

Hi everyone!  Thanks to all of you who have left comments on the website – it’s so great to know that you are checking us out!

We held another committee meeting on October 16th and things are starting to come together.  We had contacted the South High School Class of ’66 to see if they would be interested in getting the two classes together but they decided not for the 45th but maybe for the 50th.

Right now, our main goal is to locate all our classmates.  We have had tremendous success but there are still about 30 individuals that we just can’t find.  After we complete a cross-reference of the two lists we have, we will post their names on this website for YOUR HELP in locating them. Watch for the list and if you know anything about the individuals, please let us know.

We’ll start our reunion weekend on Friday night with an informal gathering at Bushwood a/k/a The Patio – stay tuned for details.  Saturday will be open during the day (don’t forget – it’s Brat Weekend!).  Of course, there is also the lakeshore, golf, and lots of other fun things to do.   We’ll open the reunion itself at 5:00 p.m. with check-in/registration.

The menu has been set, the times have been determined and we are looking into different musical options. We had thought we could bring our own CD’s to play but the sound system at Range Line Inn isn’t going to work for that so we’re looking into different DJ’s for a couple hours of entertainment during the evening.  If you live in the Sheboygan area and know of a good DJ or ensemble that would be interested in a gig for a couple hours, please let us know! Also, we are going to offer a class directory on (a) CD or (b) via email.  So, even if you cannot attend, you can request a copy of the directory.  Isn’t technology great???  🙂

We hope to get the “official” reunion invitations in the mail early next year.  Keep your calendars open (or reserved for that weekend) as we hope to see many of you next August!

Well, for those of us in the Midwest, it’s time to prepare to hunker down and pull out the parkas!  For those of you in warmer climates……we’ll be visiting soon!

WELCOME CLASSMATES!  It’s taken us (the small but hard working committee) 6+ months to get to a point where we felt comfortable contacting everyone.  Our main goal has been obtaining email addresses – we had NONE!  Now we have almost 1/2 of the class on email.  We have quite a few “unknowns” remaining but after this first email/mailing, we’ll see what follow-up will be necessary.  At some point we’ll be asking for your help in locating our unfound classmates.  Along with the updating of classmates, we had been looking at  facilities in the Sheboygan area to host the next reunion.  It came down to the almighty dollar – we had $0.00 to work with so it was pretty much a no brainer that we couldn’t select an upscale location that required a $500+ deposit.  We shortlisted approximately 6 locations and made an on-site visit to each one in January of this year.  The committee met and evaluated each location and ta da – we made our selection!!  One of our committee members generously “fronted” us the deposit and we now have a contract.  Although it wasn’t a requirement, we had focused on the first weekend in August as it coincides with Brat Days – just another place to gather for a brat and a beer – like the good old days!!

We are looking for additional assistance on the committee.  One of the things we would like to have is a memorial for our departed classmates.  One idea is to do this in Powerpoint format with background music and playing continuously on a portable screen.  Darlene has been diligent in keeping track of all the obituaries for our classmates and would love to share the list with someone.  If this is something you’d be interested in working on, please let us know!

We’ve all got our eyes and ears open for ideas for the reunion – we’d love to hear from you!  Stay tuned for updates as we move forward with the planning!
